Prior to joining AFIG, Monira was based in Johannesburg and worked as a lawyer within the Africa Practice Group of Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs, a firm of Corporate Law Advisors that is recognised as one of South Africa’s leading legal advisory businesses for major transactions. She advised major South African firms as well as African and international clients on their transactions throughout Africa. Monira also worked for several years in Paris in the Africa Department of Ernst & Young Law Firm where she advised on cross-border tax and legal matters in more than 20 African countries. Monira was born in Senegal and has lived both in Africa and Europe. She studied law in at the Université de Paris XI (France) and obtained a Master in Business from ESCP Europe business school in Oxford (UK.) Monira is a French Avocat and holds both French and Senegalese citizenships.
